Dell 24" 2407WFP

Hi, Does anyone know if the Dell 24" 2407WFP being sold through Dell on this site is version A03 or A04?

If anyone has bought one direct from Dell recently, it should say on the the sticker on the back of the screen or on the box.

I want to order this screen but want the latest version as A03 does not support 1:1 pixel mapping.

 Thanks

timtom33,

There is no definitive way to know what hub your monitor purchase will originate. Some have A03, some have A04, some have both.

Ok,

i have the choice of buying from a third party supplier or direct from yourselves, would a screen purchased direct from Dell most likely be 'new' stock, as i know some third party suppliers may not have a high stock turnover on this screen, and therefore be warehousing older stock.

I know its a werid question but just trying to establish if there are any advatages in purchasing direct from Dell or not.

It can be New and be an A03.

Hope this isn't out of line but one alternative would be to purchase a 2407 from Costco.com. If you happen to receive an A03, you can return it immediately for a full refund and try again. In fact, you have 6 months (at least) to return the display for whatever reason under their satisfaction guarantee. Of course, you'll need to have a Costco membership.

Wow!!! Thanks for the heads up on the new policy. For some reason, I missed this little tidbit. Regardless, as a Costco member, the OP would still get 90 days to return the 2407 if it were not an A04 and that's more than sufficient. I mean, it only takes a few seconds to determine whether the display is an A04 since the revision number is printed on the box. In fact, since it's printed on the box, it would be possible to simply refuse delivery on the spot. But, again, thanks for the link. I'm REALLY disappointed in Costco for changing this policy. With respect to big screen TVs and computers, I can understand the policy change. However, I think they're pushing their luck by extending it to include the likes of mp3 players, cameras and camcorders since they don't extend the manufacturer's warranty for those items. Fortunately, I'm "grandfathered" with respect to the iPod and digital camera I bought for my wife and kid for Christmas.
